LOCAL QUICKSERVICE RESTAURANT TO TRANSFORM FOR VALENTINE’S DAY FORMAL DINNER, 10% OF SALES TO GO TO ART DECO MUSEUM
Tulsa, OK – On a normal day Mod’s Coffee and Crepes is an unassuming café with counter service. Guests order at the counter and are brought their food – usually crepes, salads, soups and even homemade gelato. However, owner Rusty Rowe wanted to give patrons a special experience on Valentine’s Day. “We have a very special asset here in the Deco District – our buildings are ornately designed and I really wanted to showcase that, and give people an urban and romantic experience,” he said.
Rowe plans to transform Mod’s into a fine dining experience for the evening of February 14th. A five course Prix Fixe meal has been planned which includes such delectable treats as goat cheese stuffed strawberries over a bed of baby greens, and a white clover honey glazed chicken breast. The meal will be finished off with a butter and sugar crepe topped with a scoop of blackberry-merlot gelato. The entire meal will be served in the elegant lobby of the Philcade building. White tablecloths and candles will create an ambiance that will be difficult to forget. Red and white wine will be available for sale with the meal. The set price for the meal is $45 per person. 10% of all sales for the night of February 14th will be given to Tulsa’s new Art Deco Museum, which also resides in the lobby of the Philcade Building. The museum is set to open its doors May of 2012, but will be open on the night of this event for a sneak peek to Mod’s patrons.
