Downton Abbey Rules for Household Staff

I recently took at trip to the library and picked up "Downton Abbey Rules for Household Staff."  This fun little book is an employee manual written by Mr. Carson.  It describes each staff members duties and has tips and tricks for all sorts of situations.  It's a quick and fun read, especially if you are a Downton fan!

My favorite section of the book was describing the duty of housemaids and the approved methods of cleaning.  This bit had actual authentic recipes for making furniture polish, restoring cut flowers, cleaning looking glasses etc.

There was another chapter that had recipes for homemade tonics for different afflictions and even directions for folding fancy napkins!
